Ignition Poker Review
Overall Rating: 5 out of 7 stars (Pretty Good)
I have been playing on Ignition since they purchased Bovada in mid 2016, and I was playing on Bovada for years before that, because it's virtually the exact same software with a different name, I think I'm pretty qualified to give my two cents; AKA my entire bankroll. I only have two cents because I'm a losing donk-fish, which is way I need the referral bonus!

Reviews Explained
Tournaments
There is usually a game running that has a decent field. The lower stakes will have a decent turnout of 300 or so, and the numbers tapper of towards the higher stakes which is to be expected. There has been one-time since I've played on the site that I wanted to play a tournament but couldn't find one to join.
Cash Games
If you're looking to play $10/20 no limit, well, there aren't many games running. If you're looking for anything else, you won't have to wait too long for a full table. I've never had an issue, but I've never played more than $3/6 no limit.
Sit & Gos
It's so hard to get a decent sit & go, if it takes more than 90 seconds then I lose my patience. The 3 table sngs take 10-30 minutes to fill, singles are under 10 minutes, and the odd sngs (500 chip, triple-up, double-up, heads-up) are often a lot faster.
Zone Poker
They have 14 games up for zone poker but you'll never see more than 3 running at a time, and they are all No Limit Hold'em from $0.02/$0.05 up to $1/2.
The is pretty cool if you haven't played it. How is works is that as soon as the hand is over for you – meaning you make it to showdown, or you click ‘fold' even if it's not your action – you'll instantly be put at another table and dealt another hand. It's like PokerStars' Zoom.
Game Types
- Texas Hold'em
- Omaha Hi
- Omaha Hi/Lo.
I still gave it a decent score because these are my favorite games. PokerStars and Fulltilt used to have every variation possible – I think it was too much choice. I much prefer this selection.
Game Stakes
They're great. You can play as low as 5NL up to 2000NL
Number of Players
According to PokerScoutIgnition's 7-day average for cash game players was is 1,150 which is in 5th place, under #1 PokerStars (12,500 players) and #3 888poker (1,900 players).
Skill Level
The skill level is average at best. I haven't seen anything amazing. I'd say it correlates to exactly what you expect at each level.
Cashing Out
The only option that I have the option of using is Bitcoin. If you're like me, Bitcoin sounds super confusing and scary. But it's not.
Bovada Support Email
Professional RakeBack wrote a fantastic comprehensive guide, step-by-step with pictures and everything.
Bonuses
I've won a couple $11 tickets here and there, but nothing that great. Maybe I don't play enough.
Software
It's good, fast, intuitive, user-friendly, you have a lot of options in the settings that allow you to personalize your experience. Setting options include:
- Control sounds, alerts, warnings, chat, pop to front
- Display pot total, bet value, hand strength
- Options for player action spotlight, animations, percentages, rabbit card, see folded hand, four colored deck, disable enter to bet, auto muck, fold and show, fold and show one card, default buy-in for cash, auto-post blind
- Another thing I like is that it's 'anonymous' meaning, you don't choose a screen name. Instead you're identified by which seat you're sitting at, or the number registered in a tournament. I like this because it eliminated the use of assist tools that people use to get an edge on how often you make certain moves – I never used those, so this way makes it more 'even'.
This review on the software comes from years of playing online poker. I've played on Full Tilt, PokerStars, PartyPoker, Ultimate Bet, Paradise Poker, and Lock Poker. (Note: Do not play on Lock Poker – I once turned $100 into $8,000 and they would not let me cash it out. So I bet $500 blackjack hands until I had only 25 schmeckles, which I donated to a small impoverished, medieval village ruled by a king who called himself Mr. JellyBean.)
Customer Service
I've only had to call them once or twice throughout the years and a real person will answer! I actually called them about the Referral Bonus so they could explain it in detail, before writing this.
Bovada Live Support
I also called them once to ask about withdrawals because I used be able to request a checks to be mailed, but at some point they removed that option. (For me, I heard others still can, but I'm not sure.) I only had the bitcoin option and they offered to walk me through the bitcoin process over the phone, to which I declined because I only had 2 cents in my bankroll. The same 2 cents that I'm giving to you.
